In the past we have had a policy that anyone drinking at play events should simply not play. Everyone did a great job of self policing and it worked well for a smaller group. Now that we have more people, it has gotten more complicated. We have decided that it is better to adopt a policy that does not allow any alcohol consumption at or before play events. For social events, it is still up to the host whether to allow it, so in most cases alcohol will still be welcome at BBQ's, dinners, movie nights, and other social stuff.

In addition to the weekly dinners, May's events include:

May 8th - Introduction to BDSM and the Maui Community
May 15th - Maui Munch
May 16th - BBQ and Social
May 22nd - Rope workshop

Many of the sexual freedoms we take for granted today weren't so free just a short time ago. It's important to remember those who when before to understand how they stood up to help us stand up for whats right.

The twice monthly Wednesday evening gatherings being held by Jim & Elon are suspended for now, unless somebody else would like to continue with this event. Or maybe you would like to start a new event of your own... Anyway, Elon will be off island for quite some time and I've decided that in the absence of her physical presence & support that I'm taking a break.

We are going to be skipping a few of our normal events in February so that we can concentrate on organizing Kamp Kinky at Maui's Source festival. If you are not sure what Source is - you should really read over the website and see if it sounds like fun to you. The weekend that would normally be the monthly munch is the weekend of Source, and we'll also be there for our usual Dom's night out evening. Those of you who are invited to the February play party should still plan on coming, but the monthly BBQ will not be happening. Those who are already planning on going to Source, we'd love to see you there. And for anyone who wants to help out with our project, please email questions@mauibdsm.org soon, so that we can figure out the most productive way for you to contribute.
