That's not exactly how it works. Although the message board seems to not be active, there is networking and a lot of communication happening behind the scenes. Many of us see or talk to at least a few others every day, but the conversations might not be appropriate for a message board. Part of the purpose of this organization is to screen people as they come into the community to ensure they are safe and their motives are in the right place. What this means for new people is that there is a pool of pre-screened people here who come with recommendations. This also means that all new people have to go through the same screening process as everyone else.

Once you have met a few people and they can vouch for you, then you will be added to some of the mailing lists and people will feel more comfortable emailing you directly. You will also start getting event invitations. This process is in place for your benefit as well as anyone else's. If someone were to email you directly off of a post like this, they would not be someone who knows the rules, and would not be someone we could vouch for.

Read the parts of the site that explain the process. Our protocol is a little different form other lifestyles, but it works well and I think you'll find it easy and fun.
