Question regarding site featuresUnless I'm just completely missing something, I gather there is not means of messaging other members via this site? I was going to place a quote here, but the html tag didn't work. At least not in preview. Should it show up in preview? Or only when a post is made? What does "Split summary at cursor" mean? Questions, questions, always questions. |

There used to be a way to message other users, but it was mainly used by people who we don't know to sleaze on new users. That was not what we wanted people's first impressions of us to be. I have not put that feature back because I think that kind of thing is what collarme is for. If you want to send messages to other people here, come out and meet us and get email addresses.
HTML is not allowed in posts because it messes up the layout of the pages and makes sites look like myspace.
Split summary at cursor means to put the part before the cursor in the summary on the main page, and the part after the cursor on the article page - kind of like a "cut" on livejournal.

Regarding HTML, I was referring to the tags that are indicated on your "More information about formatting options" page, not HTML formatting per se.
I asked about the split summary at cursor, because those words were sitting in the box above the reply box when I composed my original posting. Despite your explanation, I remain rather clueless. *sheepish grin*
